Scholarships for Moroccan students
This guide gathers the Bachelor's-level scholarships a Moroccan student can actually apply to for studying in Europe. It also shows the programmes that, despite their name, do not fund a Bachelor's. Every amount, level and date comes from an official page. What is not published is marked as to be checked.
What this guide covers
The guide follows the five Jisr destinations. France, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary and Italy. For each scholarship it states whether it funds a Bachelor's, and if not, which level it is for. It also recalls Moroccan state support and European exchanges.
Hungary, the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship
The Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship funds Bachelor's studies. It covers exemption from tuition, a monthly allowance of HUF 43,700 paid twelve months a year, and either a free dormitory place or a housing allowance of HUF 40,000 per month.
The conversion of HUF 43,700 sits around 110 to 135 EUR across the pages read. It is an order of magnitude, not a fixed amount.
Supplementary medical cover is paid up to HUF 65,000 per year and per person.
Morocco is listed among the Sending Partners of the scholarship. An application is considered only if the responsible authority of the partner country submits it. The Moroccan authority and its own deadline are not shown on that page. To be checked.
For the 2026-2027 campaign, the application deadline was 15 January 2026 at 14:00 Central European Time. The nomination window of the partner country closes at the end of February. The campaign is annual, and the 2027-2028 date is to be checked.
Italy, the regional DSU scholarships
DSU scholarships fund Bachelor's and Master's studies. International students take part on the same terms as Italian students. The amount depends on income and merit. A foreign student has to obtain an ISEE parificato.
For the 2026-2027 academic year, the national minimum scholarship amounts are EUR 7,171.11 for a student living away from home, EUR 4,190.71 for a commuting student and EUR 2,890.16 for a student who lives in the study city.
A few regions pay more than the national minimum. In Emilia-Romagna, the scholarship can reach EUR 8,246.78 for a student living away from home whose ISEE does not exceed EUR 12,500.
Deadlines vary by region. In Piedmont, EDISU opened the 2026-2027 round from 22 July to 4 September 2026 at 12:00. Each region publishes its own call. To be checked for your region.
Italy, the government MAECI scholarships
Scholarships from the Italian government MAECI are for Master's, doctoral and research studies, and for schools of arts, music and dance. They do not fund a first Bachelor's. The amount is EUR 10,800 per academic year, over nine months.
For the 2026-2027 campaign, the deadline is 26 March 2026 at 14:00 Central European Time. Whether Morocco appears on the country list of the foreign-student programme is to be checked.
Germany, the Deutschlandstipendium and DAAD scholarships
The Deutschlandstipendium funds Bachelor's and Master's studies, from the first semester. It pays EUR 300 per month, that is EUR 3,600 per year. Citizenship plays no role. Each university sets its own deadline.
The main DAAD scholarships are for people who already hold a first degree and fund a Master's or a doctorate. DAAD does not offer a general scholarship for a first Bachelor's.
Netherlands, the NL Scholarship
The NL Scholarship funds a full-time Bachelor's or Master's at a participating Dutch institution. It pays EUR 5,000 once, in the first year. It does not cover all tuition. It is open to students whose nationality is outside the EEA. Each university sets its deadline, and the 2026-2027 round opened on 1 November 2026.
France, what actually exists at Bachelor's level
The French means-tested grant funds Licence studies. To receive it, a foreign student has to live in France for at least two years and have their tax household there. It therefore does not concern a Moroccan school-leaver arriving from Morocco. The exact amount is to be checked.
The France Excellence Eiffel scholarship is for Master's and doctoral studies, not for a Bachelor's. The application is filed by the French institution, not by the student.
The bilateral Campus France Maroc scholarships concern the Master's and the engineering cycle, for students already enrolled at a Moroccan institution. Campus France Maroc does not run a scholarship to start a Bachelor's.
Support on the Moroccan side
The Moroccan university grants of ONOUSC, applied for through the Minhaty platform, fund Licence studies, but for study at a Moroccan public institution. They do not fund a Bachelor's in Europe. Current amounts and the deadline are to be checked on Minhaty.
The mabourse.enssup.gov.ma portal of the Moroccan ministry of higher education lists scholarships offered by foreign governments to Moroccan students, some of them at Bachelor's level. Each programme has its own amounts, conditions and dates.
Erasmus+, what concerns a Bachelor's
Erasmus Mundus joint masters fund a Master's. They require a Bachelor's already completed. They do not fund a first Bachelor's.
Erasmus+ exchanges are for students already enrolled at a participating institution, for a stay of two to twelve months. The application goes through the home institution, not directly through the student. It is not a route to start a Bachelor's in Europe.
How to prepare an application
- Check the funded level. A scholarship that funds a Master's does not fund a Bachelor's.
- Read the official page of the scholarship and note the deadline and the documents asked for.
- For a scholarship with nomination, as in Hungary, find the body that submits the files.
- Ask your school for the documents and have them translated where needed.
- Prepare proof of funds for the visa, separately from the scholarship.
What still needs checking
- The Moroccan authority that nominates applicants for the Stipendium Hungaricum, and its deadline.
- The 2027-2028 campaign date of the Stipendium Hungaricum.
- Whether Morocco appears on the country list of the MAECI scholarships for foreign students.
- The exact amount of the French means-tested grant.
- The deadline each university sets for the Deutschlandstipendium and the NL Scholarship.
- The regional deadlines of the DSU scholarships in Italy.
