Privacy notice

Who we are

Jisr is a free, non-commercial project run by one individual established in Italy. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), that individual is the data controller. Under Moroccan Law 09-08, the same person is responsible for the processing.

What Jisr does with your data

Jisr runs one journey: from your student profile to realistic options, then costs, scholarships and an application plan. The profile you create, the programs you save and the steps you tick live only in your browser, through local storage. Nothing personal you enter is sent to us, and we hold no copy of it.

What our host sees

Jisr is hosted by Vercel, in the Frankfurt region (fra1). Like any hosting provider, Vercel keeps standard server logs for each request, for example the IP address, the URL, the time and the user agent. Those logs are produced by the host as part of running the service. Jisr sets no cookies.

Analytics

We use GoatCounter, a cookieless analytics tool hosted in the EU. The script is served from gc.zgo.at. It records the page you viewed (its path, title and any query string), the referrer and your screen size, without placing a persistent identifier on your device. We do not load it at all when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. It never receives your profile data, which stays in your browser. Analytics is off until this notice is live.

The data files your browser downloads

To compute your results, your browser downloads reference files whose names include your diploma's country, the destination countries and the fields you chose, plus the fields of any program you open or save. These files are static data. They name no grade and no nationality.

What we never collect

We never collect your grades, your nationality, your saved list, your ticked steps or the rest of your profile. None of it reaches our servers.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and Moroccan Law 09-08 you have rights over your personal data: access, rectification, erasure and objection, and in some situations restriction, portability and withdrawal of consent. To exercise any of them, write to [CONTACT EMAIL].

You may also complain to a supervisory authority:

How long we keep data

Jisr stores nothing about you beyond what the host keeps. Retention therefore follows the standard log retention of our hosting provider; we keep no separate database of visitors.

Changes to this notice

This notice covers the guest release. It will be updated before accounts (phase 2) launch, when we begin to process personal data ourselves. The rules for using Jisr are in our Terms of use.
